About our Ridgebacks

Its not all about shows, we have always enjoyed taking our dogs to fun runs/walks, hiking in the green belt, or the hike and bike trail.  After they grow past the puppy stage, ridgebacks generally just lounge on the couch unless they are engaged in an activity with you.

ASHA - New Champion.... more to come

JEWEL -

My precious puppy from my Lexi x Zeus litter.  Jewel began her show career at 2 ½ yrs of age. She quickly finished her Championship in less than 6 months time, and soon earned two 5 point majors towards her Grand Championship! Until recently, Jewel had been training on agility.  This year she has also earned her Rally Novice (RN) title and her Trick Dog Novice (TKN), pending AKC approval.

 GRACIE –

My amazing Gracie has truly had a very successful year too! She earned a Best In Field title on her 3rd lure coursing run! We were honored to have her name added to the nameplate of the Ray Woods Challenge Trophy, hosted by the Alamo Area Whippet Club! Gracie is working towards her Bronze GCH and has also earned her TT title, with a TKN pending AKC approval.

 LEXI -

Lexi has proven to be a well rounded hound and very willing to please.

She has taken Best of Breed for a Major win on the same day she took Best of Breed on the lure-coursing field for another Major win, quite an accomplishment! Her gentle temperament has served her well as she has greeted families for the past 3 years while representing Rhodesian Ridgebacks in the AKC Meet the Breeds ring at the Houston World Class Dog Shows.

Temperament is key for any ridgeback: to transition from a winning attitude in the show ring to engaging her prey drive as a focused sight hound.
